Donald Allen is CEO of D.O. Allen Homes, the residential construction company he started in 1978. His company has been a major developer and builder of communities in the Richmond and Lynchburg areas and in Jacksonville, Florida. A new project is underway in the Raleigh/Durham, North Carolina area. Donald is also a Wendy's franchisee with ten stores in Richmond and 11 stores in Atlanta, Georgia.
“A lot of banks tend not to really see smaller businesses—including those that could turn into much bigger businesses very quickly. They're almost invisible to some banks,” he says. “Virginia Business Bank has its eye on just such companies, and that's a really welcome thing for this area.”
Donald grew up in Chesterfield County and attended both John Tyler Community College and Virginia Commonwealth University.
